Traditional sales often underwhelms. Pushy salespeople trying to sell a product to those who don’t really need it... it just puts them off. That’s why we do it differently; we actively listen to potential customers’ needs and understand their pain points. As every customer is unique, we draw energy from each interaction.

When we first get in touch with a potential customer, we try to dig deeper and uncover their needs. We let them do the talking. We only move to the next step if we trust we can solve their problems and offer them something they will benefit from.
Above all, we’re honest about what Teamleader can do for you. And yes, we even suggest one of our competitors if we can’t offer the right features. Blowing off steam is key: we work hard, but never forget to have fun. We’re always in for a joke or two to take the edge off after a hard day’s work.
Marketing generates leads who activate a free trial. Next, sales picks up those leads and checks whether they’re a fit. Our sales cycle is pretty short: we move fast and talk to the right people. We work with team goals instead of individual commissions because we want to achieve something together.
Our Finance team loves to talk numbers and makes sure we can build a sustainable and financially viable company in the long run. We make informed decisions based on true facts and figures. How much money is really going in and out? We do whatever it takes to safeguard the financial future of our company.

Since we’re growing so fast, we need to shift gears quickly and optimize our processes every week. Every week? Yes, you heard us right! If necessary, we change them every day. We need to reevaluate fast to make sure our work method is still doing the trick.
Our legal team is centralized at our HQ in Ghent. We’re now active in 6 countries, each with their own legislation. It makes it challenging and tough at times, but also keeps our motivation high.
Finance usually picks up on things first. We’re not hitting our targets? A country is understaffed on sales people? We serve as the troubleshooters for all the other departments and keep our eyes peeled on potential issues to make sure we can focus on growth.

People at Teamleader raise the bar high for themselves and are hungry to learn. That’s why they often work on projects across departments. With our Growth Challenger program, HR makes sure employees have goals to challenge themselves as well as opportunities to take it up a notch and grow within the company.
Marketing is in charge of lead generation. We discover what makes potential customers that could be a great fit for Teamleader. We’re all about the numbers: we dive headfirst into our analytics to make sense of which marketing activities are working and which aren’t so we can constantly tweak our tactics. We’re a team that supports one another, and works with people across the business to do so.

We have marketers working at our HQ in Ghent supporting international teams. This makes up for a really interesting dynamic, with a hyperlocal marketing approach. We support each other to make sure every country is hitting their numbers in order to grow.
Every first Friday of the month, we spend our mornings polishing our marketing expertise or broadening our horizon by learning about a completely new topic. Afterwards, we share what we learned and contribute to improving everyone’s skills.
Teamleader’s marketing team is a pretty diverse group of people who all have different expertise in the marketing field. With this small area of focus, we have a great overview of all our marketing activities and build our expertise in-house.

Every Friday, we take the time to drill down into our processes and investigate if there are glitches that are preventing us from doing a good job. We also take a closer look at the opportunities we’re missing. It keeps us sharp, and well organised. When something’s not working, we change direction fast.
We take our time to write good code and go to great lengths to achieve that. Stuck with something you’re working on? Just ask a colleague for help. While everyone works independently and autonomously, a colleague to help you out or bounce ideas back and forth is never far away.
We work in multiple smaller teams based on the famous Spotify model. Each team consists of a small group of people. Working in smaller teams allows them to be laser-focused on one single aspect of our tool. This way, we create a huge level of ownership.
Product is the middleman between all our stakeholders and the development team, working together to develop a product used by thousands of users on a daily basis. We have a strong vision on where the product is heading and always try to keep all of our stakeholders’ best interests in mind.

We really swear by the Agile product management method, you could say it’s our holy grail. We always ask ourselves 3 questions: does a request fit the product vision? Are we going to be good at this? Is it going to matter to our users? With this feedback in mind, we define our product roadmap to make sure the work gets done.
The most important part of our job is actually saying “no” to certain product requests. In a friendly, tactful way of course. After all, it’s hard to please everyone. It's sometimes a tough balancing act, but we need to be tough sometimes to make sure our product is heading in the right direction.
We never forget our many stakeholders: (potential) customers, employees, investors, ... To investigate the real value of new requests, we add every opinion to the table. Explaining “why” something is or isn’t useful is really important.
If a customer needs help or has a question, our customer success heroes are just an email or phone call away. Our team’s responsibility is easy: making sure we do whatever it takes to make (and keep!) our customers happy. In fact, we would bend over backwards to get a smile on their face.

At Teamleader, we aren’t afraid to make mistakes. In fact, you’re not growing fast enough if you don’t. We don’t pretend we know it all, but we try our best to serve our customers in the best possible way, which comes with trial and error.
There are plenty of resources customers can use to get the most out of our tool. We have a well-documented, extensive knowledge base or online video tutorials - making our customers’ lives easier. It’s our mission to turn users into Teamleader pros in no time.
Customer services isn’t just about responding to questions and solving problems, it’s about being proactive too. Instead of just focusing on the here-and-now, we get the right stakeholders involved to prevent potential issues. Since we talk to customers on a continuous basis we have an important responsibility to report issues and make sure they get proper follow-up to improve our tool.
